Nature's Resilience

These photographs inspired the following #poem of mine. I visited an old woman in the village. The Ogbu stem (nri ewu) which she fed her goats with, had sprouted, and began to wall up the improvised fence of the pen. In the absence of the leaves, the sticks assumed sustainability through roots. The poetry will help you see the clear picture.

Hold on, I will uphold you

I'll guide you, just build on

I'll raise the sun from the sky

To shine strength in you

And water from the earth

To summon life to thrive

So lay the stone Oh Child!

I am following your dreams

I am Nature, your mother

Nurture lies in your hand!
